Corey
was the kind of person that wore his heart on his sleeve from day
one. When he saw or heard of someone having trouble, he always reached
out to help in any way he could. It was as if he felt their pain
and wanted them to be happy. No matter what he was doing, nothing
was more important then the person who was hurting. He would reach
out to get them to see that nothing in life was so bad to waste
cherished moments of life. Corey loved to laugh and make people
laugh. If you met him, you would never forget him. Corey had a smile
that made you feel everything was good in life, that would make
you forgot what was wrong or bothering you, and his blue eyes had
a sparkle like stars in the sky.
He believed strongly in standing up for what
he believed to be true. He protected his friends and even people
he did not know. Race, age, size, and any kind of disabilities did
not matter to him; everyone had feelings and a soul and that was
what mattered to him. Corey saw past differences. All he knew was
that someone was being mistreated and no one deserved to be mistreated.
He was one of a kind.
Corey had goals and dreams just like everyone
else. He was the type of person that would work hard and not give
up making his dreams come true. Obstacles were not a problem for
him. Corey believed in overcoming them and working hard, not letting
them control his life.
For fourteen years of his short life, he taught
people how to love with no conditions and how to enjoy every moment
of life because you will never know when your life is might be over.
I know most parents say their children are perfect,
and yes, I am a parent too. I saw not just the good but I saw him
for who he was and always would be. Corey was not perfect. The hardest
thing for me to admit is that he got in the car that killed him
and took him away from everyone who loved and cherished him.
Parents are supposed to teach their children;
Corey taught us the most important things that matter in life. Sometimes
it takes a lifetime to learn them, I wish with all of my heart and
being that I had more time with him. He is an angel sent from heaven;
I will never stop loving him and will never forget him. I believe
the people whose lives he has touched in his short life will never
stop loving or forget him. Most of all carry on what he taught us
about love.
